With a seemingly tranquil situation in J&K for three months, militancy-related violence in the Valley has increased in the past six weeks. Nearly 86 militants were encountered in 2021 with 80 being killed in Kashmir and six in Jammu. June and July alone saw 36 militants being killed in 16 encounters. The participation of foreign terrorists has also increased as four were killed in July alone.
