An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, confirmed police on September 6. The United Nations revealed that a Congolese rights group testified to them about tortures she has been going through. On June 29, the UN Human Rights said, the group representative said, she was kidnapped twice by militants in the Democratic Republic of Congo, repeatedly raped and forced to cook and eat human flesh. In Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, a Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist and one more were killed in an encounter with security forces on May 8. The gunfight in the Cheyan Devsar area of the south Kashmir district broke out after security forces launched a cordon and search operation based on intelligence input.  The deceased militants were a Pakistani named Haider and another is identified as Shahbaz Shah.
