From the commencement of the next academic year, roughly 50 institutions across the country will offer four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP), which is intended to be the minimum degree qualification for school teachers under National Education Policy, 2020. Under the new National Education Policy, Ministry of Education has decided to conduct common entrance test such as JEE, and NEET for students to get admitted in various universities. However, the government is planning to conduct the test in July-August, and the test aims to provide admission in undergraduate for non-technical courses. Reportedly, the entrance test was delayed due to surge in COVID cases.

According to the revised academic calendar approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), classes for the first-year students will commence in November, and no new entries to be accepted after November 30. Institutions have been ordered to take classes, six days a week to cope with the lost learning hours. The Ministry of Education tweeted that a full refund will be provided upon canceling admissions or migration, till November 30.
