Minor Rape

In Odisha's Sambalpur, six persons have been detained for allegedly raping a minor girl, informed officials on August 2. According to the FIR, the girl was lying unconscious near a good joint. When we regained consciousness, she alleged that she was raped by four men. A medical examination of the victim was conducted, and the aforementioned arrest was carried out.

In Assam's Hailakandi district, two youths have been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl, informed police on July 21. The accused have been identified as Abul Hussain and Salim Uddin. According to Superintendent of Police Gaurav Upadhyay, the minor was raped in the forest area of Kanchiala village. He further stated that the forest area is very remote, and the officials have taken the matter very seriously.

A special court in Assam's Kokrajhar sentenced three persons to death on April 8, for raping and murdering two minor girls. The accused identified as Muzammil Sheikh, Nazibul Sheikh and Farizul Rahman were convicted, on April 6. Assam CM Himanta Biswa stated that he visited the family of the deceased and had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to bring the case to a logical conclusion.

In Assam's Morigaon district, a POCSO court sentenced Rupam Deuri (23) to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for the offense of rape. Reportedly, the man raped his own minor sister multiple times and impregnated her. After the incident, the victim who is 16 years old, informed her elder sister, who then took her to the hospital for examination. After the matter came to light, an FIR was filed.
