CM Jagan Mohan Reddy Revamps Cabinet As Promised: Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, keeping up his promise on revamping the cabinet, has reconstituted it. CM Jagan Reddy announced to increase the representation of SC, ST, Other Backward Castes (OBC) and minorities to 68%. Earlier, there were seven members from OBCs, five from SCs and one from STs. There will now be 11-17 member from the backward classes, five from SCs and one from STs.

NCPCR Recommends Govt To Implement RTE Act In All Schools
The National Commission of Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) requested the government to implement the Right to Education and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan campaign in minority schools. The NCPCR said ''minority schools are outside the purview of the RTE Act'' as no action will be taken against them for not admitting students from such backgrounds. Overall, 62.50% of students from such schools belong to non-minority communities, the report said.

'Indian Community Devastated': SA's Minority Leader Shameen Rajbansi
Referring to the unrest in South Africa, South Africa’s minority front leader Shameen Thakur Rajbansi has claimed the "Indian community is devastated." The Indians in the country believe in “non-violence” but are often looked upon as targets by the South Africans. She stated that for protection they have to keep in possession cricket bats. Besides, the riots in the country began with former President Zuma’s arrest.

Canada Gets First Minority SC Judge; PM Breaks 146-Years Taboo
Justice Mahmud Jamal, the first official SC's Judge who belongs to a minority background in the history of Canada. However, Jamal was appointed on June 15 by the PM Justin Trudeau. Earlier, the PM had said, "We know people are facing systemic discrimination, unconscious bias and anti-black racism every single day," Besides, the 54-year-old has served as a judge at Ontario's Court of Appeal since 2019.

Only 7.55% From Minority Groups Enroll In Higher Education Institutes
A study by the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) stated that of all students in higher education institutes, only 7.55% come from minority communities.
