As per the South Korean military, North Korea fired a missile towards the sea off its east coast on September 28. The launch was before North Korea's UN envoy asked the US to abandon its hostile stance toward Pyongyang. North Korea's UN envoy Kim Song stated the nation was strengthening its defences and that if US stopped its hostile policies, it would react "willingly at any time" to proposals of discussions.

The Defence Ministry of India and state-owned Bharat Dynamic Limited have jointly entered into a deal to provide 4,960 anti-tank guided missiles to the Army. The MILAN-2T missile, ability to launch from both ground as well as vehicle has a range of 1,850 metres. India has successfully test-fired the army version of Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) from Odisha’s Chandipur on December 23. The missile had directly hit the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Banshee. Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), on September 30, sucessfully tested the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in Chandipur, Odisha. Reportedly, the missile has a strike range of 400 km and can be launched from land, sea and air. DRDO officials confirmed that all the parameters were achieved in the trial.
