Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani Arrested Soon After Getting Bail
Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani has been arrested again after being granted bail, six days after being arrested for pressing "objectionable" tweets targeting PM Modi. The police from Barpeta district arrested Mevani again, however, refused to disclose in which case the Gujarat MLA was re-arrested. On April 20, Mevani was arrested from his home state following a complaint filed by an Assam BJP leader seeking action against him under the IT Act.

Gujarat MLA Mevani, Kanhaiya Kumar Joins Congress Party In Rahul Gandhi's Presence
Independent Gujarat MLA from the Vadgam constituency, Jignesh Mevani and CPI leader and former JNU Students' Union President Kanhaiya Kumar on September 28 joined the Indian National Congress Party in the presence of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. Kumar had joined CPI ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Posters welcoming him in Congress were seen outside the Congress office in Delhi earlier today.

Congress Likely To Induct Kanhaiya Kumar & Jignesh Mewani
Former JNU students' Union President and CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani are expected to join the Congress party on September 28. Reportedly, Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi wishes to rope in young faces in the party to garner the support of youth voters. However, some party leaders are against Kumar due to his association with controversies at JNU in 2016.
