No Extension In Filing ITRs As Govt Wants Normalcy, Says Revenue Official
The Income Tax Department said there will be no extension in IT-Return filing. Notably, the Government decided not to extend the last ITR filing date which is July 31, as the Union Government wants to bring normalcy, disturbed amid Covid-19 pandemic. Tarun Bajaj, Secretary, Revenue said, "Hats off to taxpayers and professionals who burnt the midnight oil to file IT returns". Till July 31, over 56 million ITRs were filed.

Several Decisions Looks Unfair, But Helpful To Built Nation: PM Modi
PM Narendra Modi hinted to the recently launched "Agnipath Army recruitment scheme" and said, "Several decisions look unfair at present. In time, those decisions will help in building the nation". On June 20, PM Modi addressed an event in Bengaluru and made the remarks. Although he didn't mention the scheme directly, it referred to the same. Meanwhile, the Union Government's scheme erupted in violent protests in India.

AYUSH Sector Has Grown To $18 Bn: PM Modi
PM Narendra Modi has shared that the AYUSH sector has grown from USD 3 billion to USD 18 billion now. During the inauguration of the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit, he noted that there has been an unprecedented growth in the production of AYUSH products, including medicine and supplements. The PM also shared that over fourteen start-ups have already joined the Unicorn Club in India, in this year alone.

TIFR Withdraws Controversial Order That Limits Employees' Criticism Of Govt
The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) has withdrawn the controversial order that prohibited online criticism of the government by its employees and their kin. A TIFR spokesman said that the order was withdrawn, on April 18. The TIFR also noted that the phrasing of the notice was a gross misinterpretation. The notice issued last week had warned of security consequences if images of the institute were posted online.

Doctor Will Be Responsible For Inadequacy Of Medicines In Hospital
Maharashtra Minister suspend a doctor from the JJ Hospital for shortage of medicines. Amit Deshmukh the Medical Education Minister found that the doctor working there issuing a medicine that was not available at the hospital. The IMA issued a statement regarding that saying, "A doctor can not be held responsible for the hospital not having basic medicines. Most of them were basic medicines but the hospital does not have them."

Government To Make WhatsApp Chatbox Feature To Download Official Documents
Last year the government launched WhatsApp Chatbox to book vaccinations slots and download certificates, but now taking the step ahead, the Government of India made it a one stop destination to access documents. Now, citizens can download a PAN card, driving license or income tax easily through WhatsApp. According to officials, the testing has already been started. The new service will be active in few coming weeks.
