Rahul Gandhi Moves Gujarat HC In Modi Surname Row

After Surat Court, the Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, moved the Gujarat High Court, demanding stay order on his conviction in the 2019 Defamation Case. Notably, a Surat Court found Gandhi guilty of his "Modi Surname" row, and pronounced two years imprisonment. Reacting to the imprisonment, the Congress leader moved the Surat Court, following which he finally filed a plea to the Gujarat High Court.

Surat Court Reserves Verdict For Rahul Gandhi's Plea In Modi Surnam Case

Gujarat's Surat Court will pronounce the decision in Rahul Gandhi's plea in the 2019 defamation case on 'Modi surname' remark, on April 20. Notably, Rahul Gandhi is convicted in the 2019 defamation case and has been pronounced two years imprisonment, following which he filed a plea demanding a stay on conviction. The Surat Court reviewed the matter and has reserved the verdict. As of now, Rahul Gandhi is out on bail.

Session Court Grants Bail To Rahul Gandhi In 2019 Defamation Case

In a relief to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Surat Session Court approves bail for him in the 2019 Defamation Case. In the court hearing, the court granted the bail for "Why all Modis are thieves" remark and adjourned the matter to May 3. Notably, earlier in the day, the Congress leader moved the session court, challenging conviction in the case, requesting a bail in two-year imprisonment into matter.
