Stone Pelting Reported In Moga District, Police Alerted

The Shivamogga district administration has clamped prohibitory orders in the Ragi Gudda area here, where tension prevailed following alleged incidents of stone pelting on Sunday (October 1), police officials said. According to police sources, an angry mob is said to have thrown stones at a few houses and vehicles, and injuring several people, allegedly following the rumours of stone pelting in the region.

Sonu Sood's Car Seized At Moga Polling Booth: Punjab Assembly Elections

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood's car was seized to enter Punjab polling booths, on the election day, February 20. The actor was allegedly stopped to avoid influence in voting, when he was attempting to enter Moga district, confirmed district Public Relation officer.  He further added, action will be taken against Sood if he tries to step outside his house. Notably, Sood's sister Malvika is contesting as MLA from Moga district.

50 Protesting Farmers, 7 Policemen Suffer injuries: Punjab

In Punjab's Moga, 50 protesting farmers and at least seven policemen got injured as a scuffle broke out between them when farmers tried to disrupt the SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal's yatra on September 2. Reportedly, police used batons and water cannons to disperse the protesters and also detained about 40 farmers under various sections of the IPC. However, Badal said the protesters were members of Congress and AAP.

Punjab: Police Arrest Pregnant Woman For Murder Of 3-Year-Old Stepson

Abhijot Singh, a three-year-old boy was murdered by his pregnant step-mother at Lande village in Punjab, on June 17. Police have registered an FIR against the women, Amarjit Kuar under section 302 (Murder) of IPC. Reportedly, the women used to dislike the boy and beat him on a daily basis. During the interrogation, Amarjit confessed that she slapped him many times and then he ''banged into a wall''.

IAF's Squadron Leader Dies As Fighter Jet Crashes In Punjab

In a tragic accident, a Squadron Leader in the Indian Air Force, Abhinav Choudhary, lost his life on May 20 after his MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in the fields of Punjab's Moga district. As per sources, the pilot was flying back to Suratgarh after finishing a training drill in Ludhiana district when the crash occurred. Meanwhile, the IAF stated an inquiry has been ordered to find the accident's cause.
