Vladimir Putin Assassination Attempt: Putin’s Car Attacked, Driven To Safety As Smoke Emerged Out

In a failed assassination attempt, Russian president Vladimir Putin’s car was hit, and Putin was quickly driven to safety. Reportedly, the left from wheel of Putin’s limousine was hit, and smoke started to emerge out of the car. With this, several arrests have been made in connection with the assassination attempt. Notably, Putin in 2017, said that he has survived at least five assassination attempts.

Russia Reports First Case Of Monkeypox Virus; Patient Recently Returned From Europe

Russia has officially detected its first of Monkeypox Virus, on July 12. Reportedly, the patient is a young male, who recently returned from Europe. Reportedly, the patient showed mild symptoms, which included a rash, and is now isolated. WHO in the last week of June, stated that Monkeypox outbreak is not a global health concern currently, however, to control further spread of the virus "intense response efforts" must be taken.

Putin May Temporarily Hand Over Power As He Undergoes Cancer Treatment: Report

Russian President Vladimir Putin may temporarily hand over power to the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev. A New York Post report claims that Putin has recently been suffering from a host of ailments, including Parkinson's disease and cancer. The report also claims that Putin has been visited by an oncologist several times in recent years. There is no official information yet.

World Bank Halts All Projects In Russia, Belarus: Russia-Ukraine Crisis

The World Bank on March 2, announced halting all of its ongoing projects in Russia and Belarus with immediate effects in response to the invasion of Ukraine. "There has also been no new leading approved to Belarus since mid-2020," informed the international financial institution. Meanwhile, on March 1, the World bank announced $3 billion in support to Ukraine along with IMF's emergency assistance to the country.

UNSC Security Council To Vote On Resolution Condemning Russia On Feb 25

Amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis, UN Security Council is expected to vote on a resolution condemning Russia in the strongest terms for attacking Ukraine. The proposal will be voted by Moscow under the Russian presidency at 3 pm. "We will wait to see the shape that this resolution takes," said Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardha Shringla. Earlier Russian military attacked Ukraine which was condemned by the UK, US, Canada, and European countries.

Russian Rocket Angara-A5 To Be Launched On Dec 23

The Russian heavy-lift rocket, Angara-A5 will reportedly be launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, which is the third of 17 such launches which is scheduled to take place before 2028. A source said, "the launch of Angara-A5 will take place on December 23 at 18:00 [Moscow time, 15:00 GMT]." Furthermore, the reserve date for the launch is scheduled on December 24. Besides, the first launch took place on December 23, 2014.

Russia Reports 34,690 New COVID-19 Cases In The Last 24 Hours

Russia Reported 34,690 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing a commutative up to 9,502,879 cases in the country, according to the federal response center. Moscow alone registered 3,929 and Saint Petersburg with 1,704 new COVID-19 cases. Moreover, the response centre reported 1,235 deaths, bringing the total death toll to 270,292. The rate of increase in the active cases lies at 0.37 per cent, according to the centre.

Russia Postpones Moon Mission 'Luna-25' Untill July 2022

Russia's space agency rescheduled the launch of automatic interplanetary station Luna-25 in July next year, said Dmitry Rogozin, Roscosmos state space corporation chief on November 20. This is said to be Russia's first lunar program for the south pole of the moon, reported UNI. Earlier in August, the launch was also postponed to carry out some additional checks of equipment. Notably, the Luna 24 was launched in 1976.
