Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur Reports 10 Cases Of Zika Virus

Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district reported 10 cases of Zika virus, the government said on November 1. Reportedly, the new cases were detected following the surveillance and testing were ramped up when the state reported its first case of the virus in October. The disease spread through infected mosquitoes. Notably, CM Yogi Adityanath already ordered the health officials to conduct door-to-door sanitisation and fogging drives.

First Zika Virus Case Detected In Uttar Pradesh: Kanpur

Dr. Nepal Singh, Kanpur's Chief-Medical-Officer, said on October 24 that the first case of Zika-virus has been detected in Kanpur. Reportedly, the patient is an Indian Air Force officer. Pune Records First Case of Zika Virus In 50-Year-Old Woman

Following Kerala, Maharashtra has reported its first case of Zika virus infection in a 50-year-old woman from Pune's Purandar. However, the woman endured full recovery and her family members are reported to be safe. Reportedly, the team of the National Institute of Virology (NIV) visited Purandar who collected the blood samples confirmed the case. Notably, Aedes mosquitoes are the source of the virus, which also causes Chikungunya.
