₹2,000 Fine For Two-Wheeler Riders Unbuckled Helmet & Without ISI Mark

Two-wheeler riders who fail to wear their helmets correctly might face fines of up to ₹2,000. This includes infractions for wearing helmets with the strap undone or without a Bureau of Indian Standards certification or the ISI mark. According to Section 129 of Motor Vehicles Act of 1998, "every person driving or riding a motorcycle of any class or description, shall, while in a public place, wear protective headgear."

Transport Unions Protest Against Implementation Of Motor Vehicles Act In Telangana

Transport unions and members of the Joint Action Committee demonstrated against the implementation of the Motor Vehicles Act 2019 in Telangana. B Venkatesham, the JAC Convenor of the All India Trade Union Congress, noted that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, had earlier indicated in the assembly that the Act was not going to be implemented. Despite that, the act has been in effect since April 1.

Himachal: 15,000 Vehicles Notified To Change Olive-Green Colour

Himachal Pradesh's transport department has notified nearly 15,000 vehicle owners to switch from olive-coloured vehicles within three months. The rule prohibited vehicles painted in olive-green citing it strictly reserved for the armed forces under the Motor Vehicles Act.
