Lakhimpur Kheri Case: SKM To Stage 75-Hour Sit-In Protest Against Centre
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has announced to stage a 75-hour sit-in protest against the centre in Lakhimpur Kheri case on August 18. SKM is an umbrella group comprising of 40 farm organisations. The protesting farmers are demanding for the proper implementation of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. The farmers protests have witnessed a huge amount of violence since it began.

BAMCEF Calls For Bharat Bandh On May 25 Urging For Caste-Based Census
All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMCEF) advocated for Bharat Bandh on May 25 to seek a caste-based census. The protest was organized to condemn the Centre's refusal to perform a caste-based census for the Other Backward Classes (OBC). The Federation also wants reservations in the private sector for the SC/ST/OBC populations. BAMCEF also proposed that farmers get a definite minimum support price (MSP).

BJP MP Varun Gandhi To Bring 'Private Members Bill' Promising MSP
BJP Member of Parliament (MP) Varun Gandhi announced to bring 'private member bill', seeking MSP for farmers. Considering farmers' concern over MSP, the Lok Sabha member said, "I've created and submitted to parliament what I believe to be an actionable piece of legislation. I welcome any critique of it". The new law includes provisions like 50% profit, guaranteed MSP for 22 commodities, and other benefits to farmers.

Farmers' Organisations Call For Meeting To Discuss MSP
At the Delhi's Singhu border, leaders of 32 farmers' organisations held a meeting to discuss the issue of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) committee and cases registered against farmers during the agitation against Farm Laws. Over 50,000 cases were registered during the agitation, reported ANI. Congress MP Moves Business Notice, Demands MSP Discussion In Parliament Session
Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Deepender Singh Hooda, on November 30, demanded discussion over Minimum Support Price (MSP) and moved business notice in Rajya Sabha. The Congress MP also demanded discussion over legal financial aid to farmers who lost their lives during protests against Centre, demanding withdrawal of the "Three Farm Laws". "Indian Economy To face Crisis If There Is Law On MSP", Say's S.C-Appointed Committee
Anil Ghanwat, member of the Supreme Court-appointed committee on farm law, said that the Indian economy will face a crisis if a law is made for guaranteeing minimum support price (MSP) for crops. His remarks came amid demands by protesting farmers for legislation on MSP even if the centre planned to withdraw the three farm laws. "Both the centre and farmers should think of some other way to boost farm incomes", he added.

FCI Urges Punjab To Provide Land Records; Eyes Direct Transfer Of MSP
