After banning Twitter, the Nigerian government has planned to use Koo, a Bengaluru-based microblogging startup. Recently, Twitter took down Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet citing violation of behaviour policy which sparked the argument between Twitter and Nigerian government. Former US President Donald Trump praised the Nigerian government's decision to ban Twitter after the service deleted their President Muhammadu Buhari's tweet due to breach of rules. Praising Buhari, Trump criticized Facebook and Twitter asking who they are to judge good and evil if they themselves are evil. He further urged other countries to ban the platforms as well. Notably, Trump was banned from both platforms after the Capitol Riots.
