Celebrating National Navy Day, the Western Naval Command unfurled the world's largest national flag at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on December 4. It also overlooked Mumbai's iconic Gateway of India. The flag was made of Khadi by the Khadi and Village Industries. Reportedly, the flag measured 225 feet in length, 150 feet in width and weighed around 1,400 kg.

BJP leaders slammed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for singing ''mutilated version'' of the National Anthem at a political gathering in Mumbai on December 1. The Bombay High Court (HC) on December 1, approved the default bail plea of activist Sudha Bharadwaj, an accused in Elgar Parishad Bhima Koregaon case. The court directed her to approach a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court regarding bail conditions. Atleast 1,000 travelers landed in Mumbai from Africa in the last 15 days. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, on November 30, confirmed to have a list of 466 travelers, of which samples of 100 returnees were collected for Covid-19 test. Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer on November 26 became the 16th Indian batsman who scored a century on his Test debut. The right-hander from Mumbai scored 105 off 171 balls during the ongoing New Zealand Test match in Kanpur's Green Park Stadium. He's also the third batsman from Mumbai to score 100 runs against NZ.
