26/11 Terror Attack: Mumbai Crime Branch Files New Charge Sheet With 5th Accused
The 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack is still fresh in people's minds, and an investigation into the deadliest terrorist attack, which killed hundreds of people, is underway. On September 26, the Mumbai Crime Branch filed a new chargesheet into the terror attack. The charge sheet filed under UAPA and IPC named Tahawwur Rana as fifth accused. Rana, a Pakistani citizen with Canadian citizenship, is currently in jail in California.

The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested five people linked to fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim's 'D' company in connection with an extortion case. On October 11, a Crime Branch official confirmed and said, the police's anti-extortion cell (AEC) had recently arrested gangster Chhota Shakeel's brother-in-law Salim Qureshi alias Salim Fruit and businessman Riyaz Bhati in an extortion case. Mumbai Crime Branch Busts Racket For Selling Newborns
The Mumbai Crime Branch on January 16 busted a baby-selling racket and booked eight people including six women. Following a tip-off, the police arrested a woman, Rukhsar Shaikh, from Bandra and another accused during further probe. Reportedly, they sold baby girls for Rs 60,000 and for boys they charged Rs 1.50 lakh. The police revealed that the accused have sold at least four children, including their own babies, in last six months.

Drug Dealer Arrested in Mumbai; Claims His Connection with Celebrities
Usman Ali Shaikh, a drug dealer who was pretending to be a delivery boy was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch. Reportedly, around 139 grams of mephedrone (MD), a synthetic drug, worth Rs. 5.5 lakh was recovered from the accused. The accused, Shaikh claimed that he had supplied drugs to celebrities. The police have arrested two more people in connection to this case and investigation is underway.

Maharashtra: 2 Arrested for Killing Visually Impaired Man in Palghar
Umesh Joshi (26) and Pradeep Pankar (29) were arrested for allegedly killing a visually-impaired man in Palghar on August 8. According to the police, two people were having a fight. The victim and his wife, who is hospitalized, went out to have a look and asked both the accused not to create a ruckus, the duo then attacked the couple with a blade, killing the victim on spot.
