Metro Line 3 Work Completed 73%, To Be Functional Soon

In Maharashtra Mumbai, 73% of metro line 3 work is completed and the remaining work will be done soon, said Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC.) The metro work is in progress for the last five-six years and will be functional in the Colaba-Seepz route.  With this, of the total 42 metro-line, 40 are completed. Metropolitan Commissioner MMRDA, SVR Srinivas said the MMRC will start work for the other two metro-lines.

CM Thackeray To Inaugurate 7 & 2A Metro Lines On Gudipadva: Maharashtra

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackery will launch two new metro lines 2A (18 km) & 7 (33.50 km) on April 2. The two metro trains will enroute to Dahisar East- Andheri East (2A) and Dahisar West-Andheri West (7), benefiting Mumbai's suburban population. The development, which will reduce one-third congestion of local trains, came 10 months after trials. Notably, after several delays, the MMRDA finally received safety approval for operations.

Mumbai Metro: Indigenous Driverless Train To Arrive On January 27

Maharashtra Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde confirmed the arrival of Mumbai's first made-in-India driverless train. Manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Ltd., the automatic train will reach Charkop Metro car shed on January 27. Mumbai: Crane Hits Metro Pillar; Kills One Woman And Leaves Two Injured

A woman got killed after a crane driver in Mumbai's Andheri lost his control and crashed against a metro pillar. The incident, which happened on the morning of October 31, has also left two people injured. Reportedly, the crane broke into two after the collision, causing damage to lives and properties. However, the driver of the crane ran away from spot after the incident. Police said further investigation is underway.
