Stand Up Comedian Munawar Faruqui Denied Permission To Perform In Delhi

Stand comedian Munawar Faruqui has been denied permission by Delhi police, to perform show as scheduled on August 28. This has come after the local central district police stated that “the show will affect communal harmony in the area”. Earlier of August 25, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) wrote to Delhi commissioner Sanjay Arora, seeking to cancel Faruqui’s show. Faruqui has been controversy earlier, for his remarks on Hindu deities.

Telangana Unit BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind on December 24, objected Munawar Faruqui's Hyderabad show. He criticized KTR and said, "KTR are you a human being? That Munawar Faruqui makes joke on Goddess Sita and his shows were banned in Karnataka". Furthermore, he said they won't let him perform in Hyderabad. After being banned in Karnataka, Munawar Faruqui is scheduled to perform in Hyderabad on January 9.

Munawar Faruqui To Perform In Kolkata, Shares On Twitter

After denied show in Bengaluru, Comedian Munawar Faruqui, who bid goodbye to comedy, is to perform in Kolkata, West Bengal. The stand-up comedian, on December 19, took to Twitter and shared link to book the show scheduled on January 16, 2022.  Comedy act named "Dhando" will be the first show of Munawar after cancellation of shows in Bengaluru. Tickets are available on 'Book My Show' worth Rs 799 and onwards.

Comedian Munawar Faruqui Bids Goodbye, Says Hate Won & Artist Lost

Comedian Munawar Faruqui bids goodbye after his 12th show got canceled in the past 2 months, including the latest in Bengaluru. In his Instagram post, on November 28, Munawar wrote, "Nafrat jeet Gayi, artist har Gya (Hate won, artist lost) I'm done. Goodbye. Injustice." Earlier in 2021, Faruqui spent a month in jail, for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus, insulting God and goddesses, in one of his shows.
