The Jammu & Kashmir Police arrested Yaseer Ahmed (23,) accused in the suspicious murder of J&K Director General of Prison (DGP) Hemant Lohia. Yaseer, the domestic helper of Lohia was absconding and said to be depressed, has now been arrested after an overnight search. The Goa Police is finally ready to file a charge sheet in the BJP MLA Sonali Phogat Death Case. On September 9, Superintendent of Police (North) Shobit Saxena said, the police team is in good place in investigation and is set to file a charge sheet. "Three Investigating officers are analysing the investigation of this case. It is being reviewed at senior level," said Saxena.

 In Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, a woman was shot dead at her rented accommodation on June 21.  The police confirmed the victim to be Saima (35), a resident of Shyamnagar locality in the Lisadigate area. The accused is yet to be identified and the body has been sent for an autopsy. Furthermore, the Additional Superintendent of Police Vineet Bhatnagar said, Saima was divorced and stayed with her 7-year-old daughter.
