US: 24 Year Old Indian Student Stabbed, In Critical Condition

A 24-year-old Indian student has been stabbed in the US States of Indiana, and is in a critical condition, confirmed sources. Varun was stabbed with a knife into the temple by the assailant Jordan Andrad, 24, at a public gym in the Valparaiso city of Indiana on Sunday morning for reasons that the authorities are still investigating. The attacker was arrested and is facing attempt to murder charges.

Stop Complaining On Media Reports Covering Court Proceedings: SC To EC

The Supreme Court on May 6 lashed out at the Election Commission asking to stop complaining on media reports. The courts response came after the commission complained about media reports on Madras HC's oral observations of booking EC for murder charges for failing to control election rallies. The SC said, the Constitution gives the freedom to speech and expression to media and it will not be restricted from covering court proceedings.

SC Terms Madras HC's Observation On EC 'Harsh And Inappropriate'

The Supreme Court on May 6 termed the Madras High Court's oral observations on the Election Commission as harsh and inappropriate. The apex court said that judges of superior courts should exercise restraint and avoid ‘off the cuff’ remarks during proceedings. Earlier on April 26, the Madras HC alleging the EC of being solely responsible for the second wave of COVID-19, warned to frame EC officials with murder charges.
