Muslim Women's Organisation Urges Supreme Court To Involve In Bilkis Bano case

Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan (BMMA), a Muslim women's rights organization, protested the remission of rapists in the Bilkis Bano case on August 19. On the suggestion of a state-sponsored commission, rapists of Bilkis Bano were awarded remission and released on Independence Day. "We want the Supreme Court to intervene in this matter. We were shocked to see them free," BMMA co-founder Noorjehan Safia Niaz remarked.

Centre Announces August 1 As 'Muslim Women Rights Day'

The ministry of minority affairs has decided to observe August 1 as ''Muslim Women Rights Day'' to commemorate the anniversary of the law enactment against the triple talaq in India. On the occasion, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas attended a program in New Delhi with women and child development minister Smriti Irani and environment minister Bhupendra Yadav. Muslim Women Gets Free Bus Service On "Eid-UL-Adha" In Himachal

After offering free bus services to women on Raksha Bandhan and Bhaiya Dooj, the Himachal Pradesh government has now ordered all the buses of the "Himachal Road Transportation Corporation (HRTC)" to provide free services to Muslim women on 21st July 2021, on the account of "Eid-ul-Adha".
