At least 125 cases of "mucormycosis", a black fungal infection, have been registered in Mysuru following the decreasing occurrence of Covid-19 in the state. “There were no fresh admissions at the hospital until Thursday and Friday,” said Dr. Nanjaraj CP, Dean and Director of the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute. “To ensure that infection (mucormycosis) does not spread further, surgery is performed in many patients,” he added.

Coming in support of Mysuru librarian Syed Issaq, whose library was burnt to ashes, the netizens have raised Rs 13 lakh to reconstruct his library. Reportedly, the private-run library was allegedly burnt by anti-Kannada miscreants on April 9. However, now social media has become a silver lining for the 62-year-old librarian, who was determined to rebuild it even alone. Delhi-based non-profit Centre for Science and Environment's (CSE) analysis of 99 cities revealed that top 23 polluted cities this year belonged to North India. While Uttar Pradesh had its eight cities in the top 10, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr topped the list.
