Nagaland Govt Lifts COVID-19 Restrictions, In Effect From April 1
After Maharashtra, Nagaland has also announced to lift all the curbs imposed due to COVID-19 pandemic in the state. On April 1, Nagaland Home Ministry issued notice, permitting events with no restricted guests, night curfew, and other restrictions, with immediate effect. However, the government advised people to adhere to Coronavirus protocol for safety reasons. The decision to lift the curbs was taken in view of declining COVID-19 cases.

Nagaland Government Calls For An Urgent Meeting On March 9
Nagaland government is to hold a meeting on March 9, aiming discussion regarding Nagaland Peace Process and Urban Local Bodies. Everyone including all MLA's, presidents of all political parties, representatives of tribal groups, and civil society groups of state will attend the meeting. Furthermore, issues of women reservation, and other peace discussions, long overdue in the state for over a decade would be discussed.

AFSPA Extends For 6 Months In Nagaland Amid Disturbed Situation: Central Govt
The Centre extended Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) for more six months. On December 30, Centre issued a notification which read, "The Central Government hereby declares that the whole state of Nagaland to be 'disturbed area' for a period of six months with effect from December 30, 2021 for the purpose of the said Act". The decision was in view of killing of 13 civilians by Armed Forces.

Families Of Nagaland Firing Victims Refuse Ex-gratia, Demands Repeal AFSPA
Families of victims who lost lives in the Nagaland Firing incident in Mon district refused to take compensation. The Oting Village Council, on December 12, issued a statement asking to repeal the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) and action against 21st Para Commandos, who shot 14 civilians by mistake on December 4. The Nagaland government announced a compensation of over Rs 18 lakhs to the families.
