In Barabanki region, two alleged drug peddlers were arrested, confirmed police. During the search, the police also sized over one kilogram of morphine estimated to be worth Rs 1 crore on April 8. The search was conducted on a tip-off by the Ramsanehighat police, following which the accused, identified as Asharam and Harjeet were arrested from an intersection near Thorthia village. An interstate drug racket has been busted in Hyderabad, following which eight people have been arrested, said Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing on September 1. Notably, during a search operation on January 19-20, based on intelligence input, the Union Territory (UT) police and army launched an operation in poonch region and recovered 31 kgs of narcotics near Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir.
