Bhim Singh, the founder and senior leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, died on May 31 in Jammu. Singh, who had been ill for more than a year, leaves behind his wife and children.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences on Singh's death, saying he would be remembered as a grassroots leader who dedicated his life to the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Tokyo to attend the QUAD leaders' summit on May 24. He will be joined by Japanese and Australian leaders and US President Joe Biden.
