Delhi To Have Poor To Worsening AQI In Few Days: IMD

The IMD predicted poor or worsening air quality index in coming days.  On October 14, Delhi recorded AQI in the moderate category, even as the city's air quality is likely to deteriorate to the poor category in the next few days. The Central Pollution Control Board's 24-hour Air Quality Index (AQI) bulletin showed that Delhi's air quality was in the moderate category at 154.

ED Conducts Raid At 25 Locations In Delhi: Delhi Excise Policy Scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at more than 25 locations in Delhi,  in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Scam. The case involves Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, politicians and others including businessmen in Hyderabad.  In the new raid, the premises of businessmen dealing in liquor are being searched. However, details of the raid and an official statement from the ED agency is awaited.

Delhi Police Detains 30 People Associated With PFA In Delhi

Amid the second multilocation Public Front of India (PFI) raids, 30 people associated with the PFI were detained in Delhi. On September 27, raids were carried out in Nizamuddin and Shaheen Bagh, in the national capital as part of a crackdown against the outfit. The Special Cell of the Delhi Police conducted raids and said, "We have conducted raids at multiple locations."

Rohingya Refugees To Get Protection, Shelter In National Capital: Govt

The Central Government announced to provide shelter and protection to 1,100 Rohingyas, staying in tents. On August 17, a high-level meeting was held regarding the accommodation of Rohingyas in Delhi. Chaired by the Chief Secretary of Delhi, the government assured to shift refugees into flats equipped with basic facilities and security. Delhi Deputy CM Approves Project Worth Rs 13.58 Crore

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia approved the revamping of 17 roads in the national capital. On June 27, Sisodia released an official statement, approving projects worth Rs 13.58 crores, in which a total of 12.83 km of roads in Tilak Nagar, Vikaspuri and Janakpuri areas. Delhi Registered Over 130 Dengue Cases Till June 25, Says Civic Body

In 2022, the national capital reported 130 dengue cases have been reported, confirmed the Delhi Civic Body, on June 27.  In detail, Delhi recorded 23 dengue cases in January, 16 in February, 22 in March, 20 in April and 30 in May and 23 cases in June. Compared to last year, the capital city registered three times more in 2022. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi urged people to be careful.

IMD Issues Heatwave Alert In Delhi, 40 Degrees Celsius Maximum Temperature

the IMD issued a heatwave alert for Delhi, as the temperature is to rise with a maximum temperature to be over 40-degree mark.  On May 11, the national capital witnessed 40 degrees Celsius with moist and humid weather.  While the maximum temperature is over 40 degrees and the minimum temperature settled at 28 degrees Celsius. As per IMD, a fresh heatwave spell is likely to start on May 13.

Delhi Reports Over 1,000 COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hrs

Delhi reported 1,204 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, confirmed the Health Department on the night of April 26. Furthermore, this is the fifth consecutive day, Delhi witnessed a rise in the daily cases and reported over 1,000 cases. With this, the national capital currently has 4,508 active cases in the State, and death toll stood at 26,169 with one new death. Amid the COVID-19 rise, face-masks have been mandated.

Deployed 17 Flying Squads To Monitor AQI Norms In Delhi: Centre To SC

The Centre on December 2 constituted 17 flying squads to ensure air pollution norms are followed strictly in Delhi. They also said to deploy 23 more flying squads in 24 next hours, allowing them to take preventive action against violators. The updates were given as a response to the Supreme Court's 24 hours deadline given to submit a report on Delhi's worsening air pollution situation.
