BJP Leader In Lakshadweep Accused Of Insulting National Flag

Mohammed Kasim HK, the general secretary of the Lakshadweep BJP, is the subject of a charge that Kavaratti Police filed against him on August 16 for allegedly disrespecting the national flag. On social media, the BJP politician is charged with posting images of himself and his wife holding the national flag upside down. The police requested his appearance after sending him a notice.

Indian Army, Navy & Force Celebrate 76th Independence Day With Enthusiasm

Marking the historic 75 years of Independence Day, on August 15, the Defence Forces of India are celebrating the 76th Independence Day.  As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), commemorative visits are being undertaken by Indian Navy ships to foreign ports on every continent (except Antarctica).  Furthermore, the Indian Air Force also celebrates the event at air bases. Whereas, the Indian Army unfurled 75-foot Tiranga.

TMC Leader Compares Unveiled Emblem Cast To Ashoka Lions, Slams PM Modi

Jawhar Sircar, the TMC leader and member of Rajya Sabha slammed PM Narendra Modi for the recently unveiled national emblem cast on the roof of the new Parliament building in New Delhi.  On July 12, Sircar tweeted, two pictures drawing a comparison to the original Lion Capital of Ashoka and the latest Lions. Home Ministry Issues Advisory Against Use Of Plastic Made Tricolour

Days ahead of the Republic Day celebration, the Union Home Ministry in an advisory has requested people to avoid use of plastic-made flags.
