ED Turns Down Exemption Request In Herald Money Laundering Case, Asks To Appear On Oct 7
Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar said the Enforcement Directorate has turned down his plea for exemption from appearance before the agency in Delhi. Notably, ED asked Shivakumar to appear before them on October 7 in the National Herald money laundering case. However, he demanded an exemption and now would decide whether to appear before the agency after talking to his party leaders.

Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi Tests COVID Positive
Congress party's interim president Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for Coronavirus for the second time. The information was revealed by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh over a Tweet. He then stated that "she will remain in isolation as per government protocol". Notably, she tested positive on June 2, a day after she was issued summons by ED in National Herald case.

Shashi Tharoor, leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and several other MPs were detained for staging a protest against ED questioning Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.
