ICMR Study Reveals 3 Out Of 5 Monkeypox Cases In Delhi Had Heterosexual Contact
According to a preliminary investigation conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-National Institute of Virology (NIV), three of the five Monkeypox cases reported from Delhi had a history of heterosexual interaction. However, the other two cases out of five have no sexual interaction. Deceased Kerala Man Tests Positive For Monkeypox
A 22-year-old man's sample tested positive on August 1 after he died on July 30 in Kerala. His samples were collected in UAE on July 19, and he came to India on July 21, where he was hospitalized at Thrissur hospital on July 27. Kerala Confirms The First Case Of Zika Virus In India
The first case of the Zika virus in India was found in the blood samples of a 24-year-old pregnant woman in Kerala's, Thiruvananthapuram. Zika virus is a mosquito-borne viral infection. Samples of 13 people, suspected to be infected with the virus have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune. The symptoms include fever, skin rashes, conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain, malaise, and headache.
