PM Narendra Modi said in his third tenure as PM, he will take the country among the top three economies in the world. Addressing a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh town, Modi also said he will continue to fight against corruption. Modi said that after 2014, the country’s economy climbed to 5th position from 10th, leaving behind the UK, which ruled the country for over 200 years.

Moving ahead with the investigation of the Bengaluru government officer Prathima (37) murder, police have made a breakthrough and arrested one. The arrested suspect is identified as Kiran, the former driver of the department in which the officer worked in. Kiran was in radar of police, as he had been absconding since the crime was reported. Supreme Court Justice calls out on lawyers and asks them not to refer judges as "my lord" or "lordship.".  "I'll give half my salary, if you stop calling My lord." said Justice Narasimha. He asked lawyers to use "sir" instead. This is to be noted, in 2006, the Bar Council of India had passed a resolution deciding no advocate will address judges as "My Lord" and "Your Lordship".

In a shocking incident amid the rising number of suicide cases, a 23-year-old  B.tech student allegedly hanged himself to death, at his Shahdara residence. Police registered a case and conducted initial investigation, which revealed that the student was stressed and depressed since the past few months.  He was also taking medication for the same. Meanwhile, the IIT management asked students to seek council support, and expressed grief.
