Manipur Journo, Activist Booked Under NSA For Posts On 'Cow Cures'

Manipur-based Journalist Kishorechandra Wangkhem and activist Erendro Leichombam were framed under sedition charges on May 13 for their controversial social media posts. Booked under the National Security Act, they allegedly implicated the promoters of cow dung and urine in COVID-19 cure on the death of Manipur BJP president. On the questions of bail, the court said Wangkhem is ‘likely to be released on bail in the near future’.

UP: Allahabad High Court Slams Authorities For Misusing Cow Slaughter Act

The Allahabad High Court has lashed out at UP government authorities for misusing Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act "against innocents" as over half of arrests under National Security Act were for cow slaughter. Reportedly, the UP police, failing to produce evidences, could file closure reports in only 32 of the 4000 cases of cow slaughter. The court also blamed Gaushalas for not keeping the non-milching cattle or old cows.
