Naval Ships

India flourishingly tested the Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) from an Indian Naval Ship (INS) off the coast of Chandipur, Odisha, on June 24. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy tested the VL-SRSAM. The VL-SRSAM is a ship-borne weapon system designed to counter numerous aerial threats at close ranges, including sea-skimming targets.

Under Operation Samudra Sethu II, Navy’s INS Shardul vessel on May 4 set sail to Kuwait to bring medical oxygen containers. Reportedly, Indian Navy has deployed several ships to supplement the ongoing national mission ‘Oxygen Express’. Commemorating the 50th year of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, the Indian Naval ships will be on their first-ever visit to Bangladesh's Mongla port during March 8-10.
