Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Launches ‘Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0’

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has launched the “Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0” initiative, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among youth. This flagship initiative also aims at scouting grassroot innovators and women entrepreneurs. The Yatra is expected to cover around 100 educational institutions across 30 districts, in a period of 60 days. “The state has a mission of 5,000 startups by 2025,” said CM Patnaik.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Conducts Aerial Survey Of Flood-Affected Areas

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik conducted aerial survey of flood-affected areas including Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Khurdha. Meanwhile, the situation continues to stay grim in the regions. Boats have been sent to assist the villages, while medical camps and cooking facilities have also been set up. Over 4.67 lakh persons across 10 districts have been affected. Also, 1,757 villages have been affected.

Bank Note Paper Mill Worth Rs 2,500 Crore To Be Set Up In Odisha's Balasore

Odisha Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on July 13, informed that a bank note paper mill will be set up in Balasore. The mill will be set up by Bank Note Paper India Pvt Ltd, and is worth Rs 2,500 crore. Notably, Bank Note Paper India Pvt Ltd is a government owned subsidiary of the RBI. Reportedly, the company's MD brief CM Naveen Patnaik about the project.

Odisha CM Nominates 4 Rajya Sabha Candidates For Polls

The BJP-led Odisha Government announced Sulata Deo, Manas Ranjan Mangarj and Niranjan Bishi and renominated Sasmit Patra for the Rajya Sabha polls. The announcement came on May 29, a day after Naveen Patnaik completed its 5th-year of governance. Furthermore, Rajya Sabha polling is scheduled from 9 am to 4 pm on June 10, and the counting of votes will take place at 5 pm, on the same day.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Approves Rs 428.95 Cr For Mega Aluminium Park In Angol

A budgetary provision has been made by the Odisha government for the development of a mega Aluminium park in Angul. CM Naveen Patnaik chaired a cabinet meeting with the ministers and took the decision. Around Rs 428.95 crore has been approved for the said project and it is expected to be  completed by 2024. Reportedly, the cabinet also approved proposals for creation of land bank for industry and infrastructure.

Odisha Raises Upper Age Limit To Apply For State Govt Jobs From 32 to 38 Years

The Odisha government on January 11, raised the upper age limit from 32 to 38 years for recruitment into state government jobs. "For SC/ST/SEBC and women, the age limit is 43 years, for General persons with disabilities is 48 years and for SC/ST/SEBC PwD candidates is 53 years," the government said. The relaxation in the upper age limits will be made during the calendar year i.e. 2021, 2022, and 2023.
