An offence has been registered against four employees of a hospital in Navi Mumbai for allegedly assaulting a woman contract worker at the facility, As per police, the case was registered under sections 354 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code for the incident that took place at a hospital.

In Maharashtra's Navi Mumbai region, a four-storey building collapsed, at 10:30 pm, on October 1. The unfortunate incident killed one person, following which the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, City Police and fire brigade, rushed to the incident spot and launched a rescue operation, in the Bonkode village, Navi Mumbai. "About 32 people staying there had come out before the collapse, investigating underway," said Purushottam Jadhav.

The bid of Adani Ports was disqualified in connection to the tender issued for upgradation of a container terminal by Board of Trustees of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) in Navi Mumbai. After which, Adani Ports and Sepcial Economic Zones Limited (Adani Ports) filed a plea in Supreme Court seeking to challenge the disqualification. The counsel stated that the same plea was earlier dismissed at Bombay High Court. 

Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is aspiring to introduce a WhatsApp bot, for people to share their complaints and suggestions. According to NMMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, the WhatsApp bot can be used by people to share their experiences with the civic bodies including hospitals, public toilets, gardens, etc. As of now, people are getting in touch with the corporation through e-mails and Twitter handles. 

Hundreds of protestors representating the farmers from Kalwa-Kharigaon belt staged a sit-in agitation, at Thane district collectorate, on February 15. The protestors demanded compensation for the land they lost due to the upcoming Greenfield Navi Mumbai International airport project. Reportedly, the compensation ratio set for the project affected people is 12.5%. The protestors demanded a compensation of at least 15%.
