Indian Navy Deploys Women Officers On Navy Warships After 25 Years

After a 25-year gap, the Indian Navy has deployed four women officers on naval warships. An official from the Indian Navy stated that “two women officers…have been assigned duties aboard INS Vikramaditya and INS Shakti." Reportedly, the recent appointments were made at air traffic controller, logistics officers, and women doctor posts. Moreover, the inductions of women were first after the appointment of the first women crew in the 1990s.

Navy Sailor Dies After Kidnappers Set Him On Fire In Maharashtra's Palghar

The Maharashtra Police on February 6 informed that the Navy sailor who died of burn injuries on February 5 was earlier kidnapped by three people outside Chennai Airport on January 31. The deceased, identified as Surajkumar Mithilesh Dubey, a native of Jharkhand, was abducted after he left for joining INS Agrani Coimbatore unit via Chennai.
