Afghan Heroin Worth Rs 1,200 Crore Seized From Iranian Vessel; 6 Held In Kerala
The Indian Navy in a joint operation with NCB, seized 200 Kg of Afghan heroin worth Rs 1,200 crore from an Iranian shipping vessel, informed NCB on October 7. According to NCB’s Deputy Director General Sanjay Kumar Singh, six Iranian nationals have been arrested from the vessel. The vessel has been seized, and all the crew members have been arrested under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

NCB Seizes MD Drugs Worth Rs 120 Crore; 6 Arrested
In a major drug bust in Gujarat and Mumbai, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized MD drugs estimated to be worth Rs 120 crore, informed officials, on October 7. With this, six persons were also arrested, including two suspected drug kingpins. A total of 50kgs of drugs were recovered, which were concealed in a godown in Mumbai. In Gujarat, a total of 10.350 Kg was recovered.

NCB Nabs Supplier Of High-Grade Black Cocaine Coming From Brazil At Mumbai Airport; 3.20 Kg Seized
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 3.20 Kg of black cocaine coming from Brazil at Mumbai airport and nabbed the supplier, on September 29. The accused, a Bolivian lady was reportedly travelling from Brazil to Goa with layovers at Addis Ababa and Mumbai. She was carrying the drugs in 12 tight packets, making use of her luggage’s false cavity. A Nigerian national has also been arrested from Goa regarding the same.

CBI, NCB Conduct Operation Garuda To Crackdown Drug Peddlers In India
In a major crackdown against drug peddlers, the CBI in coordination with the Narcotics Control Bureau and police of multiple states, conducted a massive operation, on September 29. During the raid, the joint forces arrested 175 people and seized a huge quantity of drugs. Named 'Operation Garuda,' it started earlier this week, involved Interpol with 127 cases registered by the CBI, NCB and state police, including Haryana, Punjab and AP.

Sameer Wankhede Gets Clean Chit From Scrutiny Committee In 'Fake Caste Claim'
The Mumbai district scrutiny committee has issued a clean chit to former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Sameer Wankhede, in August 13. Wankhede was accused by ex-minister Nawab Malik, alleging that Wandkhede faked his caste to secure the prestigious central government job. In response, Wankhede has stated, "I have complete faith in judiciary and the state of Maharashtra".

Aryan Khan Gets Clean Chit In Mumbai Cruise Drug Case, Reveals NCB
Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan got clean-chit in the Mumbai Cruise-Drug-Case. On May 27, the Narcotics Control Bureau submitted a charge-sheet before the special NDPS court claiming, that all the accused except Aryan Khan and Mohak were under drug possession. Notably in October 2021, the NCB arrested Khan and others from a cruise after a raid and found drugs. The case was investigated by NCB SIT of Delhi-headquarters.

NCB Seizes 864 Kg Codeine-Based Cough Syrup In Thane: Maharashtra
In Thane's Bhiwandi area, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 864 kilograms of codeine-based cough syrup, on May 20. Reportedly, the total seizure tallied up to 8,640 bottles of syrup. After which, two persons were involved in the matter were arrested. Furthermore, NCB also seized a two-wheeler and a pickup truck from their possession. Further details on the matter is underway as the investigation is ongoing.

Illegal Internet Pharmacy Racket Busted, Rs 3.17 Crore Cash Seized: Hyderabad
A Hyderabad-based man has been arrested for running an illegal internet pharmacy racket, on May 8. Reportedly, he was involved in the diversion of pharma drugs from India to USA and other countries. During the search, the NCB seized Rs 3.17 crore in cash, several laptops, mobile phones and other gadgets used in the operations. A case has been registered against the accused and further details are awaited.
