Thane Court Grants Bail To Marathi Actress Ketaki Chitali With Surety Of Rs 20,000

Thane district court in Maharashtra granted bail to Marathi actress Ketaki Chitali, after being in jail for over a month, on June 22.  Ketaki was arrested for allegedly sharing an objectionable post about NCP President Sharad Pawar on social media. The district judge HM Patwardhan granted bail with a surety of Rs 20,000.  Notably, On May 14, Ketaki was arrested by Thane Police, after she posted a derogatory post for Sharad Pawar.

NCP Leader Nawab Malik's Wife, Son Summoned Multiple Times & None Appeared, Says ED

NCP leader Nawab Malik's wife and son were reportedly summoned by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the ongoing money laundering probe, but they failed to appear. In a chargesheet filed by ED, it was mentioned that his wife Mehjabin was summoned twice and son Faraj Malik was summoned five times, for which they failed to appear. Malik has been accused in a money laundering case with alleged links to Dawood Ibrahim.

Ketaki Chitale Sent To Judicial Custody Over Derogatory Post Against Sharad Pawar

Marathi actress Ketaki Chitale has been sent to 14-day judicial custody, after her 3-day police custody expired on May 18. Chitale was arrested on May 15 from Thane, for allegedly sharing a "derogatory post" against NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Reportedly, she was thrown ink at by agitated people, during her arrest. The investigation is underway and over 15 cases have been registered against her across various police station in Maharashtra.

ED Custody For Nawab Malik Extended Till March 7 In Money Laundering Case

Minority affairs minister of Maharashtra Nawab Malik's ED custody has been extended till March 7, by a special court. The custody has been extended to further the probe into the case. Malik was arrested on February 23 after a 5-hour interrogation as part of the money laundering probe. He is also suspected to have ties with fugitive and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

NCP Chief Sharad Pawar Tests Positive For COVID-19

NCP chief Sharad Pawar has tested positive for COVID-19 on January 24. Pawar confirmed it on twitter, and said that he is following the treatment as suggested by his doctor, while he requested people who came in contact with him, to get tested. In the month of December 2021, 13 ministers of the Maharashtra government and 70-odd legislators tested positive for Covid-19. Notably, the state reported 40,805 fresh cases.

Sharad Pawar Takes Dig At BJP, Says 4 More MLAs Quit, Ahead Of UP Polls

NCP President Sharad Pawar took a dig at the BJP,  after four MLAs resigned the Party. "Not a single day passes when a BJP leader does not leave the party. Take Uttar Pradesh for example, 13 MLAs are leaving BJP to join another party," said Pawar. The statement came after Vinay Shakya, Devesh Shakya, Draupadi Shakya and Mukesh Verma submitted their resignation, ahead of UP Polls, scheduled from February 10.
