According to the most recent sources, Neeraj Chopra, the gold medallist from the Tokyo Olympics, will not compete in the 2022 Commonwealth Games owing to an injury. Neeraj was India's greatest chance to win gold at the Birmingham Games, having most recently earned the silver medal at the World Athletics Championship 2022. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Neeraj earned the gold medal in the javelin throw competition.

Olympian Neeraj Chopra brings a silver medal with a throw of 88.13m at the World Athletics Championship finals, on July 23. With this fourth-attempt throw, Chopra secured a second position, whereas the gold medal was won by Anderson Peter of Grenada who threw 90.54m at the event. Furthermore, with this, Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian to bag a silver medal in track and field athletics, in world championships.

Indian Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra qualified for his maiden World Championships final. On July 22, Chopra gave a stunning first attempt throw of 88.39m here, and secured his place in the finals of the championship. The 24-year-old Indian, opened the men's javelin throw Group A qualification round with to 88.39m throw. This is his third career-best throw, for another medal. The medal round will be held on Sunday (7:05am IST).

Neeraj Chopra Is Confident To Break 90m Mark, Aims World Championship In USA
After breaking his own national record, Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is now confident that he will soon have throw record of 90m. In the Diamond League, Chopra broke his previous record of 89.30m, with 89.94 m. Now, he is sure to cross the 90m barriers, in 2022. Furthermore, Neeraj is now aiming the World Championships to be held in Eugene, the USA from July 15 to 24.

Olympic Medalist Neeraj Chopra Wins Kuortane Games In Finland
India's Olympic Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra secured another medal for India, by winning the javelin throw event at the Kuortane Games in Finland. On June 18, he clinched the top spot against champion Anderson Peters of Grenada. Chopra's opening throw of 86.69m was his winning distance, in one throw. Chopra's earlier national record was 88.07m which he had set in Patiala in March, breaking his old record of 87.58m Olympic-throw.
