Srinagar's Tribal Boy Tufail Ahmad Clears NEET 2022: J&K
Tufail Ahmad a tribal boy of Mulnar Harwan in Srinagar has qualified for the NEET 2022. Talking about his struggle Ahmad said to ANI, there were no transport facilities in the village, I used to walk daily two kms. "We do not have a proper electricity supply and the mobile connectivity is limited," he added. However, Ahmad wants to become a doctor and provide medical help to the village people.

Delhi Govt Announces Free JEE, NEET Coaching To Students
The Delhi Government is to provide free NEET and JEE coaching classes to class X-XII students, announced Education Minister Manish Sisodia. He signed MoU with Avanti Fellow, to provide coaching to students, who cannot afford the engineering and medical entrance tuitions. DMK Members Walkout Of Rajya Sabha After Venkaiah Naidu Refuses To Take Up NEET Issue
Members of DMK, the ruling party of Tamil Nadu, walked out of Rajya Sabha session over Tamil Nadu Governor's decision to return the NEET exemption bill, on February 4. PTI reported that DMK members insisted on raising the NEET issue during the Zero Hour, for which chairman Venkaiah Naidu did not agree. After the incident, Naidu said, "if the others had cooperated," the issue would have been taken up.

Supreme Court Allows 27% Reservation For OBC In Medical Institutions
The Supreme Court announced judgement over a petition, filed against OBC/EWS reservation. On January 20, the Top Court allowed 27% reservation by Central Government for OBC/EWS for medical institutions admission. Supreme Court Allows EWS, OBC Quota In NEET-PG Medical Counselling
The Supreme Court on January 7, has allowed the resumption of the NEET-PG 2021-2022 counseling process of admission. The Apex Court allowed 27% quota for Other Backward Classes and 10% for Economically Weaker Section, said bench led by Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna. They also accepted the income cut-off of Rs 8 lakh for the EWS quota as per the recommendation of Ajay Bhushan Pandey.

SC Likely To Prepone Hearing On EWS Quota In NEET Admission
The Supreme Court on January 3, said that it will decide whether a special bench can be set up to hear the issue of reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in NEET admission on January 4 or 5. Reportedly, the Union government requested the Court to hear the matter before the scheduled date on January 6. However, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta agreed to appoint a three-judge bench for the case.

NEET Aspirant Commits Suicide Fearing Failure: Tamil Nadu
Soundharya T, a 17-year-old NEET student was found dead at her home in Vellore, Tamil Nadu on Sept 15. Reportedly, she committed suicide due to the fear of failing in NEET that she gave on Sept 12. However, she had scored 510 out of 600 in the competitive exams. Moreover, her parents have demand to "ban NEET" exam. Besides, her death is third of its kind in TN.

For MBBS Students; NeXT To Replace NEET PG By 2023
According to the sources, the government is likely to replace the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (PG) with the National Exit Test (NeXT) exam for final year MBBS students from 2023. The move won't only give the license to students for practicing medicine and surgery but also benefit the students to get admission to PG medical degree programs. However, any official announcement is expected in six months.
