CM MK Stalin Expresses Stance Against NEP, Calls It ‘Stumbling Block’: Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on August 30, said that the government apart from opposing National Education Entrance Test (NEET), is also against the National Education Policy (NEP). He stated that the NEP “is not a stepping stone, but a stumbling block”. He further stated, “we are resisting because we are a society which fought for the right to education”. The CM also intends on framing a State Education Policy.

Tamil Nadu Govt Asks Panel To Draft Distinctive State Education Policy As Alternative To NEP
The DMK-led Tamil Nadu government has asked the 13-member panel headed by Justice D Murugesan, to draft a distinctive state education policy. The distinctive state education policy will be introduced as an alternative for the National Educational Policy (NEP), opposing the three-language formula and entrance exams for all UG courses. The panel is asked to submit recommendations within one year, and to keep in mind the youths of the state.

Gujarat Government Makes 'Bhagavad Gita' Part Of School Syllabus
In the Assembly on March 17, Gujarat government announced that Bhagavad Gita will be a part of the school syllabus from classes 6 to 12 in the state. During a discussion on budgetary allocations, Education Minister Jitu Vaghani made the announcement. The decision was taken to introduce the values and principles enshrined in Bhagavad Gita. Furthermore, the government will provide books and audio-video CDs to the students.

Second Term Exams For Classes 9 & 12 To Be Conducted In Two Parts: Himachal
In Himachal Pradesh, under the National Education Policy, the second term examination of classes 9 and 12 of batch 2021-22 will be conducted in two terms on the basis of a 50:50 syllabus. The exams will be conducted in November 2021 and March 2022. However, there will be a reduction of 30% in the course as per the last academic session 2020-21.
