Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli Claims 'Yoga originated in Nepal, Not in India'

In a controversial remark on June 21, Nepal PM KP Sharma has claimed the headlines saying ''Yoga originated in Nepal, not in India''. the PM made remark during the occasion of International Yoga Day at a program held at his residence Baluwatar. According to him, Indian experts have been hiding facts about it. Last year, he had commented that Ayodhya is in Nepal and Lord Rama was Nepali.

Nepal Seeks International Help Over Vaccine Delays Promised By India

Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli lamented that India did not fulfill their promise of giving enough vaccines. Reportedly, Nepal was promised to receive one-million doses of COVID vaccines to administer second jab to its citizens. Requesting help from China, US and other countries, Oli said unless timely second dose is given, the first dose will be meaningless. Notably, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka also sought vaccines from the Serum Institute.

Nepal: KP Sharma Oli Reappointed As PM After Oppn Fails To Form Govt

Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari on May 13 re-appointed KP Sharma Oli as the Prime Minister, days after his resignation from the post. Oli was reappointed as the PM since the opposition in the House of Representatives failed to claim a majority. Earlier, Oli had lost the trust vote on May 10. The PM will now take a vote of confidence again within 30 days.

Nepal PM Oli Losses Vote Of Confidence; New Govt To Be Formed Within Week

With 124 votes against him, Nepal PM KP Oli was denied the vote of confidence in Parliament on May 10. While 15 members did not participate in the voting, 93 out of the 232 present voted 'Ayes' for Oli's government. Alleged of failing to tackle the COVID pandemic, Oli will render his resignation to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. Interestingly, dissident members of ruling party, defying the whip abstained voting.

10,000 Protestors March Against Nepal's PM, Call To Revoke Dissolution

Nepal Parliament Dissolved; President Declares Polls In 2021

After Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli's recommendation, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has dissolved the country's parliament and has announced interim general elections. Besides, the Rashtrapati Bhawan has announced that the country would undergo polls in two phases - April 30 and May 10. Reportedly, the PM's sudden move is due to an internal dispute in the ruling Nepal Congress Party. Earlier, the Sharma Oli's government was elected in 2017.

China Constructs Nine Buildings Near the Nepal-China Border Area

The chairman of Nepal's Namkha Municipality, Vishnu Bahadur Lama confirmed that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) was constructing infrastructure at Nepal-China border of Humla district.
