South actor Naga Chaitanya is making his Bollywood debut in Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha. Naga Chaitanya discussed about nepotism in Telugu cinema industry. Naga told, "What's wrong (coming from a film family)? My grandad was an actor, my dad got inspired by him and became an actor. I saw these two amazing actors and I got inspired by them and wanted to take that forward."

Producers Guild of India on September 4 condemned the "relentless attacks" on entertainment industry following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. It said it has entertained millions of people, and was an "important source of soft power". About nepotism, it said that one can "definitely" get benefits of "being born into the industry", but it was up to each individual's talent to survive. Various stars from the industry supported the statement.

Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah, shared his views on nepotism which has turned into a debate since Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. "I don’t understand this insider-outsider nonsense...nepotism gets you to a certain point, after that you’re on your own," he said. He also refuted claims of the existence of a 'movie mafia'. "There is no mafia. I have not ever felt any obstacle to my work," the actor added.
