BBMP Plans New Rule; Agency That Digs Up Road Will Rebulid: Bengaluru
BBMP intends to implement a regulation requiring the agency that dug up the road to restore it. Currently, agencies need to get permission from the BBMP to dig up roads and pay a fee to cover restoration costs. Reportedly, The new regulation will increase transparency in the operation. Srinivas Alavilli of Janaagraha stated BBMP should also penalize entities who fail to repair roads within the specified time period.

Portugal Prohibits Employers From Contacting Staff After Work Hours; New Law

Bengaluru To Make Microchipping Of Pet Dogs Mandatory
In Bengaluru, pet dogs may have 11-digit microchips that provide information on the owner, immunization, age, and breed. It will be implanted in the pet's neck. If a pet parent fails to register, a fee of Rs 1,000 will be assessed, along with Rs 300 per day until registration is completed. The law will be released in 15 days. The act makes it illegal to raise violent and hound breeds.

New Zealand Criminalizes Plotting Terror Attacks
New Zealand government, on September 30, announced a new law that says plotting a terrorist attack will be criminalized. PM Ardern said, "the fact that he (plotter) was in the community — will be an illustration that we have not succeeded in using the law to the extent we would have liked". The release of the Auckland attackers led the government to take this step.

Karnataka Police Makes First Arrest Under New Cattle Law
Karnataka police registered the first case under the freshly drafted Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020 on January 13.
