New Leader of Hong Kong

John Lee is elected as the City's next leader, Hong Kong's Chief Executive on May 8 in a vote cast by a largely pro-Beijing committee. Lee was the only candidate who won with 99% of vote, he will replace current leader Carrie Lam on July 1. John Lee is a hardline security chief supervised a crackdown on Hong Kong's pro-democracy movement.
