Suriname President To Be Chief Guest At 72nd Republic Day Parade
After UK's Boris Johnson cancelled his Republic Day visit to India, Republic of Suriname's President Chandrikapersad Santokhi will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Ban On Flights From UK Likely To Be Extended: Civil Aviation Minister
Citing the new COVID-19 strain, the Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on December 29 informed that India will probably extend the flight ban from Britain. However, he said that the final call on this matter will be taken after couple of days. Earlier, on December 22, the Union government decided to ban all flights originating from the UK up to December 31, 2020.
