Twin Borns 15 Minutes Apart But Birthdays Falls On Different Dates

In a bizarre coincidence, a California-based woman, Fatima Madrigal, gave birth to twins just 15 minutes apart but the newborn's date of birth will fall on different dates. The coincidence happened when Madrigal gave birth to her son Alfredo on December 31 at 11:45 pm but his sister, Aylin, was born after 15 minutes on January 1. ''I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight,'' said Madrigal.

Swiggy Sets New Record, Receives 9,500 Orders Per Minute

Online food delivery platform Swiggy thanked its customers after it received 9,500 orders per minute, breaking the last record of 5,500 food orders per minute. The company made the record on new year's eve, on December 31. ''OPM reaches most 9,500 level by early dinner itself, which is almost 1.7x of last year's peak,'' said Swiggy. Reportedly, it shaw the jump of 80% in the number of new users.

India-Pakistan Armies Exchange Sweets On New Year: Jammu & Kashmir

India-Pakistan armies exchanged sweets, on January 1, New Year, along the Line of Control (LoC) at Poonch and Mendhar crossing points in Jammu & Kashmir. "Considering the ongoing ceasefire along India-Pak border, this gesture is aimed at further enhancing peace and harmony in J&K," a statement reads. Notably, both the armies had announced to adhere to the ceasefire across the LoC, in February 2021.

JSW Group Offers Incentive Of Rs 3 Lakh To Employees For Buying EVs

With an aim to promote electric vehicles, Mumbai-based conglomerate JSW Group announced to provide an incentive of Rs 3 lakh to its employees for buying an EV starting from January 1. The company will also provide free-of-cost dedicated charging stations and parking slots at its offices. The offer is available on both a two-wheeler and four-wheeler. However, it makes the company the first to do so in India.

WHO Cautions Against Large Gatherings On Christmas & New Year

Ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, World Health Organisation (WHO) warned of large gatherings considering the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, on December 21. It added that the gathering of ''people coming from different places'' may increase the spread of the variant. Earlier on December 20, WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus had said, ''An event cancelled is better than a life cancelled.''
