Delhi Men Beat Street Dog To Death, Video Goes Viral

A shocking video of the cruelty of two people, beating a street dog went viral on social media. The video of animal cruelty emerged from Delhi's Sarita Vihar, in which two men identified as Vinod Kumar and Lekhpal, can be seen beating up a street dog brutally. The dog reportedly died from the injuries. The incident was tweeted by People For Animals NGO, demanding action against those two.

Bombay HC Directs Maha Govt To Issue Orphan Certificate For 2 Students: NEET UG 2022

The Bombay High Court reviewed a petition filed demanding "orphan certificate" for two students for the 2022 NEET Exams. The Nest India Foundation filed the petition demanding orphan certificate for two girls residing in a home for abandoned and orphaned girls in Mumbai. HC bench comprising Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Madhav Jamdar, passed the order on May 6, directing the Maharashtra Government to issue the certificate soon.

Hope's Classroom Buses For Underprivileged Children In Delhi

Underprivileged students had no access to education during the pandemic owing to the closure of schools. However, Hope, a community school in Delhi came as a rescue as they provided the opportunity of the online classroom and mid-day meals. The initiative has been taken by Tejas Asia NGO, where “Hope buses” are provided across Delhi, inside which children study for two hours on subjects like maths and language skills.

Delhi Govt Initiates Free Food Program For Homeless

In alliance with Akshaya Patra Foundation, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on August 8 initiated a "food distribution program" for the destitute community living in shelter homes all around the city. The objective of the initiative is to supply meals to the homeless throughout NGO's 209 shelter homes which will provide food to 6000 people. "We have worked a lot for the poor", Kejriwal said.

SC Distressed Over Cops; Hundreds Of Cases Filed Under Scrapped IT Act

"It is shocking, distressing, and amazing how police across the country are still registering cases under Section 66A of IT Act, " a Supreme Court bench said on June 29. However, the Act was struck down in 2015, a total of 687 cases were registered then, and currently, increased to 1307, said senior advocate Sanjay Parikh. Moreover, SC issued a notice to the Centre stating, "we will do something".

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Donates Rs110 Cr To Help India In COVID Crisis

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has announced to have donated over Rs 110 ($15mn) crore to help India in the COVID-19 crisis. The donation have been split among three NGOs - Care ($10mn), Aid India ($2.5mn) and Sewa International USA ($2.5mn). All the three NGOs will be jointly working to set up temporary COVID care centres, provide oxygen and other medical supplies along with reaching out to marginalized communities.
