Delhi has reported its third case of Monkeypox virus in a Nigerian national, on August 2. Another Nigerian, about 35-years-old, tested positive for Monkeypox virus in Delhi, on August 1. India recorded its first death due to Monkeypox on July 30. With this, India is on an alert, and the central government has formed a task force to monitor the situation and provide guidance.

SC Refuses To Entertain Nigerian Woman's Plea Challenging Fees Levied Over Exit Permits For Her Children

The apex court refused to entertain a plea filed by a Nigerian National, challenging the levying of fees to issue exit permits to her children. The Supreme Court then directed her to file it in the concerned High Court. The petitioner stated that an exit fees of Rs 4,34,000 was levied towards her children, when Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939, states that children below age of 12 are exempted.

Nigerian Drug Peddler Arrested In Mumbai's Goregaon, 400 Gram MDMA Seized

A Nigerian has been arrested for the offence of drug peddling, by anti-narcotics cell of Mumbai's Bandra, on May 20. The accused was arrested from Goregaon and about 400 grams of MDMA was seized from his possession. Furthermore, a case has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) against him. Another Nigerian drug peddler was arrested from Mumbai's Malwani area on April 22, with 750 grams of MDMA.

Abducted Girl Reunites Parents After 7 Years In Nigeria

In April 2014, Boko Haram Militants raided the school in the northeastern town of Nigeria's Chikbok, where they abducted 270 girls. However, on August 7, one of the abducted girls was freed and later reunited with her parents after seven years, said Borno state’s governor. Meanwhile, after mediation in 2017, 82 girls were freed adding the rest 24 who were either rescued or found. Besides, 113 girls are still under abduction.
