Former US President Donald Trump praised the Nigerian government's decision to ban Twitter after the service deleted their President Muhammadu Buhari's tweet due to breach of rules. Praising Buhari, Trump criticized Facebook and Twitter asking who they are to judge good and evil if they themselves are evil. He further urged other countries to ban the platforms as well. Notably, Trump was banned from both platforms after the Capitol Riots.

Following a tip-off, the NCB on January 15 arrested Nigerian national allegedly carrying 10-12 cocaine-filled capsules in his mouth. Busting him outside a Juhu-based five-star hotel, the police rushed him to hospital for X-ray and CT-scan where more drugs were discovered in his mouth. A fuel tanker explosion in Lokoja, Nigeria has killed atleast 25 people including school students. The incident took place in the early hours of September 23. Reportedly, the driver lost control after the brakes of the tanker failed. Police spokesman Willy Aya stated that several victims were charred so severely that bodies could not be recognized. A video shared online shows huge black fumes erupting from the spot of the explosion.
